Our Story
More than 40 years ago, Nick Economos, together with friends and family, created a beloved tradition at the Atlanta Greek Festival: a Bakaliko—a Greek country store filled with the authentic foods, flavors, and hospitality that generations of Greeks have cherished.
For many visitors, it was their first true taste of Greece. From imported cheeses and olives to olive oils, sweets, and pantry staples, the Bakaliko became a place where people could experience the warmth, culture, and traditions of a Greek village marketplace.
